Waking from the Summer lull

We're backkkkkkkkkk,

It has been a really long time, but you know how things are in the summer. So here is a few quick hits about the summer that was, and the upcoming weeks.

- Dear Mr. Kovalchuk.....I don't know what to say except that even after all of that trouble, you still won't win a cup in New Jersey.

- Washington didn't re-sign any of its' character guys and doesn't have a goalie. Yes, that is the smell of another presidents trophy winner going out in the first round.

- Despite not grabbing Kovie, is this the year of the Kings?

- Chicago blew themselves up, but I still see them as a threat to repeat if everything goes well (We're looking at you Turco)

- Calgary, followed by laughter. Enough said.

- Steve Yzerman is about to become a God in Tampa Bay. If he gets Stamkos to stay, people in Tampa might actually forget about the Buccaneers come October.

- Kris Versteeg and Colby Armstrong; do they make the leafs a playoff team?

- I'm pumped to see Dale Tallon blow up Florida the right way.

Another year of hockey begins 3 weeks tomorrow, so the usual team previews and picks will be up coming starting this week, one division at a time.
